Tracy Hill: Me and my journey

I spent twenty years working inside corporate finance teams before founding Sapphire Finance, and that background shapes everything about how we work with clients now.

I have sat in board meetings where three departments gave three different versions of the truth, and I know exactly how unsettling that feels when you are the one expected to make sense of it. That experience is why Sapphire Finance exists: to give growing businesses access to the kind of financial clarity and strategic thinking that used to be reserved for companies large enough to employ a full finance department.

We are not your traditional accountants. We do not hide behind jargon, and we do not disappear until the next deadline looms. Whether you need the basics handled properly or genuine Finance Director-level input on where your business is heading, the approach stays the same: collaborative, available when you need us, and honest about what we see in your numbers. There is always something that can be done, and it is good to talk.

Meet the team

I started out in accounting in 2020 after discovering a genuine interest in numbers and finance. I took a short break in 2022 after my son was born, then came back to finish my AAT qualification.

Three years at Sapphire has given me strong practical experience across day-to-day work. I am now AAT qualified, with my sights set on ACCA next.

I am AAT Level 4 qualified and currently working towards CIMA. I look after the day-to-day numbers so our clients can focus on the bigger picture. What I enjoy most is clear, ongoing management account reporting, taking complex data and turning it into practical insight a business can actually use.

Outside the office I run the ultimate weekend taxi service for my kids and their various clubs. When I do get a moment to unwind you will find me outdoors, whether that is in the garden, out on a hike, or watching a good game of rugby.

I am ICB Level 3 qualified and have been part of the team at Sapphire Finance since 2021. I have particularly enjoyed building expertise across the trades and hospitality sectors, where I take pride in supporting clients with their finances. I love getting to know our clients and being part of their business journey, however big or small.

Outside work I keep active with the gym, swimming, and walks with our Cockapoo, Charlie, who also loves his weekly visit to the office.

I have been a Bookkeeper for 11 years for one of Sapphire’s clients earlier this year I was offered a permanent position to join the team. I enjoy a challenge and like to be kept busy.

In my spare time I have many hobbies including tennis, Nordic walking and Amateur Dramatics.

As Operations Manager I keep everything at Sapphire Finance running smoothly, supporting both our clients and the team behind the scenes. I look after our day-to-day operations and processes, making sure things stay organised, nothing gets missed, and clients receive the friendly, efficient service we pride ourselves on.

Outside work I enjoy my weekly spin class, going on holiday, and spending time with my family and friends.

I am currently studying for my AAT Level 3 qualification as an apprentice at Sapphire Finance. I enjoy meeting new clients and learning about the different industries we work with, and I am looking forward to growing my career here.

How we work

Every client gets a dedicated Client Manager and Assistant as their main points of contact, so you are never starting from scratch with someone new. We combine smart systems with hands-on, human support, because automation alone cannot replace someone who actually understands your business. Real-time access to your numbers is paired with consistent, easy-to-follow reporting, and support that fits around how you work rather than the other way round. Behind the scenes, everything stays accurate and current, so you never have to think about it.
